Shannon Miller, Preschool Director

Hi...Welcome to Loving Hands Preschool!  My name is Shannon Miller, and I began my career as the Preschool Director at Loving Hands Preschool in 2010.  I earned my BA in Child/Family Development from the University of Akron.  Before coming here, I was employed at the Canton Jewish Community Center as a three year old preschool teacher  for seven years and at the Shaw JCC as a Pre-K teacher and School Age Child Care Supervisor for four years.  I reside in Hartville with my husband Chris, our son, Logan and our bulldog Chasie.

Alicia Sobieski, Lead Teacher, Purple Room

Hello!  My name is Alicia Sobieski and I will be the Lead Teacher in the Purple Room this year as well as the  Enrichment Teacher. This will be my first year with Loving Hands and I could not be more excited to join this amazing team. Originally from California, my husband and I moved to Ohio almost three years ago and we have loved every minute of it. Currently, we live in Uniontown with our two children, Gavin and Kennedy. I received my Bachelor's Degree in Communication from Cal State Bernardino, as well as my Associate's Degree in Liberal Studies. I am so excited for this school year and cannot wait to meet all of my students and their families!

Jessica Gasparik, Lead Teacher, Blue Room

Hello!  My name is Jessica Gasparik. I completed my student teaching at Loving Hands Preschool and earned my Associate's Degree in Early Childhood Eduacation after completing my student teaching in the Blue Room. I was hired as a Lead Teacher in 2016. I have been working in this field for 8 years. I knew from an early age that I wanted to work with young children and I am excited for the opportunity to be a part of the Loving Hands Preschool Family. My husband, John and I just welcomed our first child into this world in May 2018. We are blessed to have baby John! We enjoy spending time outdoors and with our families.

Libby Marks, Lead Teacher, Green Room

Hello!  My name is Libby Marks and I am so excited to be the lead teacher in the Green Room this year! I live in Green with my husband, Josh, and 4 kids - Cade, Ellie, Jane, and Charley. I grew up in Akron, and graduated from the University of Dayton

with a bachelors degree in elementary eduacation. I taught six years total before deciding to stay home to raise my own school of kids! Our family loves sports, especially football and baseball, and taking trips to the beach!

I fell in love with Loving Hands Preschool while my own children attended here over the last several years, and now am thrilled to become a part of the staff and have the opportunity to work, learn and play with your young ones each day!

Stephanie Maynard, Lead Teacher, Yellow Room

 Hi my name is Stephanie Maynard. I will be the Lead Teacher in the Yellow room this year. My
husband Ray and I have both lived in Green our whole lives and love it here. We have 12 year
old twin boys, Ray and Will. We also have 7 year old boy/girl twins, Lucy and Max. I graduated
from Kent State in 1999 with a bachelors degree in Family Studies. I worked as a Social
Worker for Stark County prior to having children. I was fortunate enough to be a stay at home
Mom for 10 years.
Our family enjoys traveling and camping and attending all of the sports events and activities the
kids are all in. I am looking forward to meeting all of you and having a wonderful year of
learning and growing together.

 

Angela Ritchie, Lead Teacher, Orange Room

Hi!  My name is Angela Ritchie and I will be the three year old teacher in the Orange Room.  I earned my Early Childhood degree from the University of Akron.  I have enjoyed working with children for the past 20 years and have been at Loving Hands Preschool since 2012.  My husband Bob and I have five children, Jordyn, Robby and Jack, Addy, and Bella!  We have an energetic Box/Lab mix named Reagan, whom we adore!

Brittney Hurley, Administrative Coordinator

Hi!  My name is Brittney Hurley and I am the Administrative Coordinator at Loving Hands.  I work in the main church office and provide administrative support to the preschool, keep the website updated and process tuition payments.  I was hired in at Loving Hands Preschool in 2016, and have had my children attending since 2011. My husband Ryan and I have three children; Rylan, Quinn and Phiona. We also have a Golden Retriever, Mack. I am looking forward to a great year!

Stacey Petros, Assistant Teacher, Purple Room

 

Hello!  My name is Stacey Petros and I will be the Assistant Teacher in the Purple Room this year.  I live in Uniontown with my husband of over 10 years, Greg, our son Grady and our daughter Elizabeth.  Both of our children attended Loving Hands Preschool.  I earned my Bachelor's Degree in Psychology from Kent State University and I have worked at Loving Hands since 2015!  I am very excited to meet all the children and their families this school year!

 

MaryEllen Leasure, Assistant Teacher, Blue Room

 Hello! My name is Mary Ellen Leasure and I'm the Blue Room Assistant here at Loving Hands Preschool. I will also be the Assistant Teacher in the Orange Room MW PM Class. I am a graduate of Kent State University. Prior to working at Loving Hands, I was a science educator at the Great Lakes Science Center and an educational interpreter for the Lake County Metroparks. I currently live in Green with my husband James, son Sebastian, daughter Isabelle and our dog Marley. Our daughter attended Loving Hands and has wonderful memories of her time spent here! I am very excited to have joined the Loving Hands team in 2017 and am looking forward to a great school year! 

 

 

 

Carolyn Chaffinch, Assistant Teacher, Green Room

 

Hello!  My name is Carolyn Chaffinch and I will be the Assistant Teacher in the Green Room.  I began teaching here at Loving Hands in 2016!  I graduated from Pfeiffer University where I met my husband Craig.  We live in Green with our three daughters Cassidy, Christi, Callie and our dog Rocky.  Our youngest attended Loving Hands when we moved here from Maryland and has happy memories of her days here.  We enjoy spending time as a family watching football and soccer games.  I am very excited for the school year to start and meet the students and their families!

 

 

Kate Gifford, Assistant Teacher, Yellow Room

  Hello!  My name is Kate Gifford and I will be the Assistant Teacher in the Yellow Room this year!  I live in Green with my husband, Jim; our children, Emilia and James; and our very energetic dog, Lucy.  Before joining the Loving Hands family in 2015, I was fortunate enough to stay home with my children, both of whom attended (and adored) Loving Hands.  I am so excited to be a part of this amazing school and look forward to the wonderful year ahead!

 

 

Robin DePew, Assistant Teacher, Orange Room

Hi!  My name is Miss Robin and I am the Assistant Teacher in the Orange Room.  I have been with Loving Hands Preschool since 2009.  Before that, I was a Gym Instructor at the Green YMCA working with children 3-5 years of age.  After graduating from the University of Akron, I married my husband Jim.  We have two daughters, Lauren and Sophia, who both attended Loving Hands Preschool.  We also have a 7 pound Toy Manchester Terrier named Jazz, who I often refer to as our third child!  I really enjoy the beach and spending time with my family.

 

Terri Nettleton, Lead Teacher-Orange Room MWpm, Enrichment Teacher

 Hello! My name is Terri Nettleton and I am excited to start my first year here at Loving Hands  preschool! I will be a lead teacher in orange room on Monday & Wednesday Afternoons, as well as an Enrichment teacher on Tuesday and Thursdays. I come to Loving  Hands after spending over 20 years in the public education system working with kindergarten age multi handicapped students as well as the typical Ed population. My family and I value education and spend a great deal of time discussing it’s importance when we were all together. My husband is a middle school principal and two of my three sons are high school teachers here in Ohio. I’m eager to begin working with your children and I look forward to forming a team with you and our staff this year!
